Solo Strings provides individual music tuition offered in both the violin and the viola. Neural pathways are formed through music tuition as every part of the mind is engaged and students are prepared for lifelong learning. Bronwyn’s teaching is very much inspired by the Suzuki Method. She is also happy to prepare students for music exams offered by the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB).

What is the Suzuki Method?

The Suzuki Method is a child-centred philosophy and music teaching approach created by renowned violinist and music educator Dr Shinichi Suzuki. Dr Suzuki believed, “The potential of every child is unlimited,” and that every student can flourish in the right learning environment. Suzuki students are immersed in listening to quality music from a young age. Students learn to play an instrument through imitation and repetition, engaging multiple senses, much as a child learns to speak their first language. Learning to hear and feel variations in beat, pitch and rhythm trains the auditory processor, creating vital neural pathways.

The art of music learning truly nourishes the heart and grows the mind.

“If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”

Dr Shinichi Suzuki
